The primary office tenants at Northwood Centre are:

Department of Business and Professional Regulation
BPR was the first major tenant to sign on at Northwood after the 1985 renovation. A bid for 136,000 square feet was accepted in 1988 and BPR moved in May, 1989. The agency currently leases more than 200,000 SF of office space at Northwood.


Department of Children and Families

DCF (formerly known as the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services) also awarded a major bid for 119,054 square feet to locate at Northwood in 1988. They moved to the Technology Center in August, 1989. The agency currently leases approximately 135,000 square feet at Northwood including a 44,000 square foot raised floor computer room.

Department of Education
DOE's Bureau of Student Financial Assistance moved to Northwood in November,2000 and lease 49,000 square feet.

Department of Revenue
DOR has the Child Support Enforcement Unit located at Northwood. The unit was formerly part of DCF and was transferred to DOR. The agency occupies 18,000 square feet.

Department of State
DOS has signed a lease for more than 55,000 SF of office and storage space at the site of the former Publix grocery store.



Northwood currently leases more than 450,000 square feet of office space to the State of Florida.


It was originally constructed in 1968 by Publix Super Markets, Inc. as the first enclosed shopping center in Tallahassee.

The property was originally purchased by from Publix Supermarkets in 1985 and a dramatic renovation of the center was completed in 1989.

As a result, Northwood Centre now consists of modern offices, a data center, on site storage and a number of outparcels.

As the single largest block of leaseable office space under one roof in the Tallahassee area, Northwood Centre offers numerous amenities to state employees and the surrounding population.
